Welcome to Hoveton & Wroxham Medical Centre

We are a friendly practice located near the Norfolk Broads offering services to over 9,000 permanent residents, and the many people that come to the central Broads area during the summer months. We are a teaching practice and offer training for Registrars and Medical Students and are also registered to undertake research activities. We have a satellite surgery located once a week in Salhouse so we can provide a better service to our patients.

We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.

You are now able to book your Flu Vaccination online:

Appointments can only be booked if you have registered for 'Online Sevices'. Please speak to reception for more information.

You can still make an appointment with our reception team if you do not have online access today.

Dr Fowler has resigned from the partnership and her last day was 25 July 2019.   She will continue her career in a more flexible way and will be sorely missed by everyone.

We have begun the process to find her successor and every effort will be made to provide continuity of care for Dr Fowler's patients during this transition period.

Primary Care Network

We are now working with fellow practices in Acle, Blofield, Brundell, Ludham and Stalham as part of a 'Primary Care Network'.  The aim is to give general practice a stronger voice within regional NHS decision-making.  Early projects will be to deploy greater resources to medical centres in the form of a clinical pharmacist, more social prescribers and mental health clinicians.

Serving You

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or book and cancel an appointment. We also offer a travel clinic and offer a number of private practitioners. We are accepting new patients to the practice so please check our coverage map in the new patients section to find out more. We are also able to deal with minor injuries such as grazes, cuts, falls that need dressings applied.

We also have an on site dispensary for patients to collect their medication from and provides a highly valued service for those patients entitled to use it (depending on how far you live from the surgery - feel free to ask). This also helps to fund a much greater range of services than the surgery could otherwise provide.

Partners in Care

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

NHS Health Checks

The surgery also provide free NHS Health Checks to patients aged between 40-74. These are available to those who do not have a long term health condition and involves a blood test to screen for certain conditions, and other lifestyle advice. If you are interested then please give us a call to arrange an appointment. We can also offer smoking cessation advice and support to current smokers.

Online Access

If you haven’t yet signed up for GP Online Services simply call into the practice with two forms of photo ID and proof of address.  We can sign you up there and then. GP Online Services makes it easy to book appointments online, request repeat prescriptions and view some of your medical records.  Find out more about this on

If you are not able to attend an appointment you have booked, for whatever reason, please let us know.  We can then offer that appointment to someone else that needs it.
