Covid Vaccination Programme – an update

Writing this on 17 May 2021, we are now nearing the completion of our efforts to provide the over-fifties two doses of the vaccine.  As announced this weekend we are bringing forward where possible 2nd dose vaccinations by reducing the first/second dose interval from 11 weeks down to 8 weeks.   We are also pressing ahead and calling the under-fifties for their 1st dose.

Please have both your vaccinations to prevent another lock-down and

to keep you and your loved ones safe.

We will be texting you an invite for self-book on your smart ’phone.

Face-to-face appointments

Hoveton & Wroxham Medical Centre has never stopped offering face-to-face appointments.  Throughout the pandemic, we have carefully assessed Covid infection risks to patients and staff and decided the best course of action.   On-line and telephone assessments have proven safe, effective and convenient for patients and will continue where clinically appropriate.  Should a visit to the Medical Centre be required then one is arranged.  Moreover, some conditions where a physical examination is required (eg. a lump or a rash), is booked as a F2F appointment from the outset.

Waiting Lists

It is regrettable that hospital waiting lists are increasing.  If you have questions, you should contact Hospital directly.  They will be able to help you with follow up appointments, chasing of clinic letters (although the Hospital has up to 10 working days to get the clinic letter to us), investigation results (i.e MRI, USS, bloods, Endoscopy/biopsy results) and medication changes just to name but a few.

If you are waiting to hear about a first appointment at the hospital after being referred from Hoveton & Wroxham Medical Centre you should contact the N&N Switchboard on 01603 286286 and ask to be put through to outpatient bookings, who can advise accordingly.
