Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) & Seizure Safety Programme – Awareness Training

Did you know that one in five people with a learning disability or autism also have epilepsy? This group is especially vulnerable, with research showing they die, on average, ten years younger than people with other conditions. Many of these deaths are preventable.

To help raise awareness and improve support, there is a free, 90-minute online training session focused on Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and seizure safety. This sessions will cover:

  • What SUDEP is and who is most at risk
  • Practical ways to reduce risk and improve safety
  • Evidence-based resources and digital tools to support care providers, families, and individuals with epilepsy
