Helpful Information
What services will be available?
The Hoveton and Wroxham Medical Practice will start offering appointments at Magna Medical Centre two days a week when it first opens.
You’ll be able to book:
- GP appointments
- Blood tests (phlebotomy)
- Other clinical services
Patients who live in the Rackheath area can still have appointments at our main Hoveton and Wroxham site too.
All registered patients will be able to use either location, depending on appointment availability.
Can I collect prescriptions there?
Yes. If you’re a dispensing patient — meaning you normally collect your medicines directly from the GP surgery rather than a pharmacy — you’ll be able to pick up your prearranged prescriptions from Magna Medical Centre when our team is working there.
If you a non-dispensing patient, your prescription will be sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.
How do I register?
You can register with us if you live within our practice area.

Will the practice area change?
Yes, we plan to expand our boundary to include the Magna Medical Centre and nearby buildings. Once the new site opens, please check the postcode checker on our website again for updates.

The Salhouse branch surgery has been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic due to infection prevention guidance. Once the Magna Medical Centre is open, we plan to move our branch services there.

Other Services at Magna Medical Centre
NHS Property Services owns and operates the building.
Part of the building will be leased by Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust (NCHC). NCHC will be using the facility as a base for their Community Nursing Therapy and the Urgent community response teams. These teams will use the building as a base and to collect and drop off equipment for home visits. In addition, NCHC will also be running leg ulcer, catheter and continence clinics from the building.
Magna Medical Centre will also include an initial 4 bookable clinical consultation rooms and a larger group room. These rooms will be bookable via an online platform on an ad-hoc or regular basis by any approved supplier. An approved supplier will include both NHS and non-NHS providers. It is not yet known what demand for these rooms will be like but the pricing structure will be incentivised to get more NHS services using the building. To allow both the practice and NCHC time to settle into the building it is not planned to make the bookable rooms live until early 2026. Further details about how to book rooms will be released in the coming months.
